"We were heading home from our son's house and stopped in to meet our fellow Elks. They were very welcoming and gave my wife and I coins - Lodge 2788. We were a bit ill prepared but did have our Lodge 14, Tri-City bottle koozies to give. We spent about an hour visiting before hitting the road again. If you are an Elk and traveling down Route 1 through York, Maine, stop by and say hello!"

"Nice small lodge with a very friendly bartender who invited us to the lodge's upcoming lobster roast. The same can not be said for the rest of the members who were in attendance when we visited. When we visit an Elks lodge members are generally friendly and want to know where you are from and what you are doing in their area. Other than the bartender, and one member who challenged me as to whether I was a member of the Elks, no one spoke to us. We both had a drink, and left. Clearly visitors are of no importance to this lodge, or at least to those members who were present when we visited."

"Darn! What a surprise to see the Lodge. My wife and I are from Houston. We were on our way to Ogunquit, ME for lunch and then Cohasset, MA for supper. We were moving pretty quick. We sure did talk about how much we would have enjoyed stopping there to see our brothers and sisters."
